  1. -Bad Writing
    -Mostly just fluff
    -Overhyped

  2. Dude. Edward is an abusive guy, he beats on Bella all the time, and plus, it’s horribly written. Do yourself a favor and don’t read Twilight.

  3. read it during study hall and keep it in your locker… borrow from a friend, you’ll get hooked on it…

  4. read it at school!
and ur mom is effing crazy!

  5. has your mom read it?

  6. Get a copy at your school library and read it there when you have free time. Don’t take it home though. PS. It’s not bad.

  7. I read it, and it really isn’t that bad. Edward is very sensitive towards Bella, they don’t even kiss until the middle of the book. The only book that’s really that bad is Breaking Dawn, the last one, and there isn’t really even that much details or anything.

  8. its not that bad, the only kiss, jeez,
just hire it or borrow it or something, or tell her to stop being so overprotectivee.

  9. You really shouldn’t disrespect your mother. Just look at how many people on Yahoo hate it. Maybe she is saving you from becoming brain-washed into liking it. I was one of the few who read it and, made it safely out. However, I don’t know about the black nail polish thing. Maybe you can wear a dark-purple that looks like black. Reason with her.

  10. she proabaly doesnt like the fact that edward is a vampire but read it the books are amazing!!

you 14 you have your own life like you said follow your own advice and stop listening to mommy.

  11. It’s not bad. It’s just horridly annoying how every teen on the planet Earth finds it to be such an important book. It’s not.

  12. How is it bad? dont even get me started. First off, nothing happens in the book.

“edward i think i love you.”
    “really? cool”
“yeah… it doesnt matter that i’ve known you for 2 weeks, i’m completely and eternally in love with you.”
    “awesome.”

    for like 500-600 pages!

  13. She might not like the refferences to what she thinks is evil and will corrupt you. She probably doesn’t understand that its not satanistic, especially if shes really religious. I can’t blame her if she doesn’t want you into satanism, cause thats some freaky shit there, but i think she doesn’t understand how things have changed since she was a child. The second to last does have sexual refferences, and the last contains sexual content, however its still a “teen” book, and not extremely explicit.

  14. its not bad. i loved it because i always was fascinated about vampires and in twighlight there was so much magic. its getting to be overrated but read what you want to read. just be nice to her and pretend to reason with her but then go to your school library and read it after school or something. OR ask your mom to read it first.

theres no cussing. they kiss a small bit, but it doesnt get racy until breaking dawn or eclipse. maybe shes thinking of breaking dawn.

  15. Ask your mom to read it first.

  16. Well She might have something against Vampires, you Could Read her a few reviews in hopes of changing her mind, because they aren’t bad vampires, the main characters are all good fighting and protecting us against the evil ones.
I can believe it, my mom’s the same way, she actually picked up Twilight first, and didn’t like it, so I got to read it, because i’m 17, she didn’t want my youngest sister who’s 11 reading it until I had, and she doesn’t like black nail polish, but doesn’t explode when i wear it.

your mom is trying to protect you from getting violent and negative images in your head though, so she should get some credit for that. but try to read her a few reviews, maybe she’ll get the jive of the idea and be totally ok with it =D

I just had to Comment on these answers…
“you 14 you have your own life like you said follow your own advice and stop listening to mommy.”
that isn’t really true, you’re not your own grown up self until your 18, as long as you live under your parent’s roof, they are king of the roost and make the rules, and are the authority, once you’re 18 then you’ve got the maturity to make your own decisions :)

    And
“Dude. Edward is an abusive guy, he beats on Bella all the time, and plus, it’s horribly written. Do yourself a favor and don’t read Twilight.”
Is just a flat out lie, Edward represents the perfect guy, he does have his own problems, but he gains control over them AND says apologizes for his wrong doings, he’s a mature 100 year old guy, that’s why all the girls are in love with him, in this age where almost all men treat their wives and Girl friends like the women are their moms, He treats Bella right, with the respect ALL women deserve, hey that could really be a selling point for your mom :D

    One more edit sorry,
In Eclipse Edward demonstrates teen responsibility, and planned pregnancy, he Stresses the point that adult activity is only meant for marriage, and makes them wait for that. Big Plus

  17. who said it was bad? eff them! lol

  18. Hey, at least she cares, probably a bit too much. I left some ways to read in secrecy on one of your previous questions

    I agree with Kyle♪

  19. That’s your mother’s opinion, which she is entitled to. You are still a minor so don’t go behind her back. If you can’t get her to come around to your way of thinking, when you’re 18, if the book still interests you, you can read it then.

  20. It’s too addictive ;)
Just try and make her see that its not bad.. it’s just a story.
Just because it has evil things in it like vampires it doesn’t mean you are gonna turn into a wiccan or anything.
Keep trying :) Persistence pays off.
    Good luck.

  21. some people think the book is girlie and violent, i don’t think that. i love Twilight. it is my most favorite book in the world. but seriously Twilight is most definitely not a bad book. u should read it, as long as your mom is ok with it or something. the movie is the #1 movie in America, so the book is a whole lot better, trust me everyone knows Twilight and everyone likes it. you can try reading it when she is not home, at a friends house, at school, at night when she is asleep. i hope it helps. you can tell your mom everyone is reading it, it is a worldwide best seller, which means that everyone loves Twilight. it is a good book, if it were bad no one would read it. Every time i read it i could not stop smiling. try to convince her. Good Luck!!!

  22. it’s not

  23. Its AMAZING! haha especially since your 14 you will love all of them! i finished all 4 in like a week (and i never read, cause i hate to read) but read them their soo good! oh and somebody else said this..try to make ur mom read them, my mom obviously doesnt read teen books but she LOVED them, she’s the one who kept bugging me to read them! haha

  24. I am a parent myself, and I think any parent that keeps their children from reading is an idiot. Your Mom is probably a religious freak. Any parent that burns books and keeps their children from reading and wearing black nail polish has issues. I personally think the books are crap, but at least I have read them. I also think that making your children believe in a religion that teaches these principles is much more wrong then reading the books.

My advice is to tell your mom that she is polluting your mind way more then these books ever could. I bet sh hasn’t read anything other then the bible or some crap like the Purpose Driven Life ever. Thank god I have an open mind and will never subject my children to this kind of garbage.
